We are a 501(c)3 tax exempt non-profit Web-based organization dedicated to providing authentic, raw, life-changing hope to people who daily battle chronic illness, as well as their families and friends, regardless of diagnosis. 

We specialize in creating tools and resources to engage, encourage, challenge, and come alongside our community as we practically reach for growth and purpose, work through our challenges, strengthen character, establish rich community, and ultimately develop our faith. By sharing courageous stories and walking through the ups and downs of life with chronic illness together, we’re creating a culture of contagious, inspirational hope that reflects the character of Christ and the loving compassion of God. We seek to overcome isolation and facilitate connectedness through our global, dynamic, passionate community of followers and friends. Our goal is to celebrate those who are living out audacious hope, and to bring others along on this journey as we challenge one another and get serious about growth and faith against all odds.

After personally fighting an undiagnosed chronic illness for several years, Anna founded People Hope in 2014 at twenty-four years old. Through her illness, Anna had become extremely disappointed in the lack of resources tailored specifically to those in her circumstances; to provide support spiritually, mentally, socially, and emotionally through unthinkable circumstances. Out of those experiences she designed the very thing that had been missing.

As the Executive Director of People Hope and the author of the Focus Fix, Anna is building a distinctly unique organization and creating innovative tools and programs with passion that could only come through personal experience. She’s the chronically ill BFF we all need in our lives, and her love for the global chronically ill community is unmistakable.

OUR NAME

The name People Hope came through honest conversations about hope. As humans we’ve been created with so many abilities. People challenge and strengthen one another. People change and adapt. People grow; people love. And we also have this incredibly powerful ability within our grasp — people hope. That perfectly complete sentence says it all. When separated, the words depict exactly what we're about. We're people-centric; we're story-driven, and we're all about celebrating your personal, daily, authentic choices of hope no matter what your circumstances may be.

OUR LOGO

The People Hope logo was meticulously hand-created by Mary ellen King at Aspenglow Arts, combining all elements that are foundational to us. There is great significance to the wreath, in that it symbolizes openness, growth, inspiration, and community. The wreath also makes a welcoming statement, which is important as so many chronically ill individuals struggle with isolation and loneliness. When you visit People Hope, we want the first image you see to welcome you home, and make you feel like you belong here because you do! Rather than being rendered digitally, the wreath was hand-drawn, which gives it the genuine, personal, and sincere feel that People Hope is all about. For the lettering we chose a clean, strong font, because there is a resolved strength in so much of what we do and who we are, and it is important that our logo honors and reflects the courage of our users. 

People Hope is overseen by a fantastic team, but if you’re looking for their technical term, they’re our board of directors! They regularly meet and oversee everything from our finances to our upcoming plans for content and everything in between. Our board allows us to operate an organization that we can be truly proud of, full of integrity, accountability, and structure.
